Big on Style
Big Kahuna is a downstairs duplex with spectacular views that look out over Bogue Sound. You’ll have a front-row seat to Emerald Isle’s famous sunsets every night from the comfort and privacy of your rental. When you walk in the front door, you’ll be greeted by an open floor plan that combines the living and dining rooms, making entertaining during your stay a breeze.
The common space is decked out in natural elements. From the white shiplap on the walls, to the earthy-toned wood floors, to the variety of wood furniture pieces, everything in this duplex has been crafted to have a nautical feel. The living room is outfitted with two large, plush sofas and an oversized chair to relax in after a long day at the beach. Floor to ceiling windows give you a picturesque view of the water during all hours of the day as well.
The living room was made for movie buffs and sports fans alike with a 4K high-definition mounted Smart TV with surround sound, courtesy of a home theatre soundbar. Movie nights and big games will look amazing with this setup!
Right off of the living room, the dining room has seating for eight and is easily accessible from the kitchen. Its teal-colored chairs add a great pop of color that complement the white walls and ceiling beams. The kitchen is housed in the adjoining corner of the duplex and packs major design appeal, with dark wood cabinets and stainless-steel appliances. You’ll be cooking up some of your favorite meals, or perhaps your very own catch of the day in no time!
When you step outside, Big Kahuna becomes an outdoorsman’s dream escape with picnic tables, a gas grill, and fishing readily available. A covered patio has plenty of lounge furniture for you to kick up your feet while you look out at the water.
A large concrete dock is perfect for setting up shop not too far from home while you test the waters for redfish, flounder and trout. The dock is also lighted, so you’ll be able to fish at night while the heat of the day sizzles away. Wash up your daily catches with ease at the cleaning station, fully equipped with running water right on the dock.
If you’re looking for adventure, the shallow inlet waters are perfect for kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, and wind and kite surfing with trails through the creeks and marsh easily accessible from Bogue Sound.
After a day on the water, the fun doesn’t have to stop. Check out the game room with traditional poker and bridge tables, darts, a 14-foot shuffleboard table, two cornhole boards and another 4K high-definition Smart TV with a soundbar. Big on Relaxation
There are three bedrooms at Big Kahuna that include two queen beds and two twin beds. The master bedroom suite has its own sunroom with tall windows that look out onto the Bogue Sound. This room also has two oversized chairs for kicking back, and a high-definition TV. The master bedroom itself is spacious and lets in plenty of natural light from the sunroom.
The other bedroom with a queen-size bed is also nicely lit and it has its own private bathroom with a glass door shower. The last bedroom is great for younger guests and has two twin-sized beds.
