Ahoy, Mates!

Hoist the sails and brace yourselves for the Beaufort Pirate Invasion! Prepare for a swashbuckling adventure as the pirates descend upon Downtown Beaufort!

From sword fighting and black powder demos with cannons to axe/knife throwing and living history displays and reenactments, this spirited two-day festival offers fun and entertainment the whole family will enjoy.

Vendors and local food trucks will be on-site with delicious food items. Tickets are good throughout the weekend, so there’s plenty of time to explore restaurants and shops downtown. Watch out for pirates that tend to roam from the Encampment. You may find them wandering around Gallants Channel or even as you are exploring downtown.

And before you go, make a stop at the North Carolina Maritime Museum to check out the Blackbeard and Queen Anne’s Revenge exhibit.

2024 Event Schedule

Friday, November 22

12:00 pm – Vendors open downtown, Middle Lane, and Beaufort Historic Site

5:00 pm – Event opens with cannon salute and parlay in the park.

8:00 pm – Parlay ends and vendors close

Saturday, November 23

10:00 am – Event opens with cannon salute and public gathers for invasion battle

10:30 am – Drama in Beaufort at Eury Park (pre-invasion show)

11:00 am – Spanish pirates invade Beaufort by ship & shore, the battle for Beaufort

11:30 am – Militia regroups to fight and repel the pirates

12:00 pm – Militia parades capture pirates through the streets to the old jail, located at the Beaufort Historic Site (public is encourages to participate)

5:00 pm – Event closes for the day

Sunday, November 24

10:00 am – Vendors open and pirates attack Beaufort Hotel at East end of Front Street

11:00 am – Event opens

3:00 pm – The battle of Ocracoke, AKA Blackbeards last stand

4:00 pm – Event closes

Event Parking

Parking on the downtown waterfront is paid parking. Additional parking is available in various lots and on most streets throughout downtown.
