Join us this May for the annual Bike the Banks/Crystal Coast Lighthouse Challenge bicycle ride. This North Carolina cycling event is part of an ongoing effort to promote Carteret County as one of the top bicycle-riding destinations and support the Emerald Isle Bike and Pedestrian Path that runs for 12 miles throughout town.

Bike the Banks Courses

Cyclists can choose from two rides that vary in length. All bicycle rides start and end at the Emerald Isle Community Center.

Emerald Isle Run: a 10-mile ride along the bicycle and pedestrian path in Emerald Isle
Fort Macon: a 50-mile roundtrip ride to Fort Macon State Park along Highway 58

Bike the Banks Race Schedule

Fort Macon (50 miles): 7:30 am
Emerald Isle (10 miles): 8:30 am
