Be part of Down East Carteret County’s largest assembly of runners, walkers and cheering friends for the Core Sound Run in Harkers Island, NC! Participants from Carteret County and the surrounding area come together for one of the most beautiful runs in Eastern North Carolina.

More than 400 participants are expected to help us welcome spring to one of North Carolina’s most beautiful islands — Harkers Island. The Core Sound Run begins and ends “at the end of the road” – at the edge of Core Sound and features a 10K, 5K, and Fun Run. Prizes will be awarded per age group and to overall winners of the 5k and 10k races.

All proceeds from this family-friendly event support Core Sound’s educational programs throughout the year.
